Trioxyde

In 2010, Trioxyde celebrates its 20th anniversary! Founded in 1990 in Montreal by guitarist and composer Jean-François Girard, the band started its career as a power trio, promoting its music via local and national radios, bars and also some well renowned jazz events in Quebec.

In 1995, Trioxyde has turned into a quartet with the addition of a sax player. This metamorphosis can be heard on their first EP album release «Fantôme» (1996). This new skin leads the band to accomplish some bigger touring projects in Quebec and France (Grenoble, Lyon and Vienne).

In 2003, the saxophone is replaced by the electric piano. The musical approach provided more maturity, as well as the new repertoire. Accordingly the musical approch is immediately felt in a CD simply titled «Trioxyde» is released in 2007.

Trioxyde has just signed with Unicorn Digital in 2010 for the release of their third album «Hey Carlos» -paying a tribute to guitarist Carlos Santana -among others!

Trioxyde célèbre en 2010 son 20ème anniversaire! Fondé à Montréal par le guitariste Jean-François Girard, le groupe a débuté sa carrière en power trio. Trioxyde se fait d'abord connaître par le biais des radios nationale et communautaires, des bars et de quelques événements de jazz de renom au Québec.

En 1995, Trioxyde se métamorphose en quartet par l’ajout d’un saxophone. Cette nouvelle mouture donne naissance au EP «Fantôme» en 1996. Sur sa lancée, le groupe réalise ses premiers projets de tournée au Québec ainsi qu’en France (Grenoble, Lyon et Vienne).

En 2003, le piano électrique remplace le saxophone. Dès lors, plus de maturité et d'assurance transparaît dans le style et le répertoire. C'est ce que l'on repère immédiatement sur le 2ème CD de Trioxyde, intitulé... «Trioxyde» (2007).

En mai 2010, Trioxyde lance son 3ème album chez Unicorn Digital Records, «Hey Carlos». Cette pièce-titre rend hommage au célèbre guitariste Santana -entre autres!
