Créé de la rencontre de Benjamin Croizy (claviers), David Maurin (guitares et flûte), Samuel Maurin (basses et Stick) et Frank Niebel (batterie et percussions), NIL trouve son nom en 1999. Après deux CD sortis de manière confidentielle, le groupe franchit une étape avec "Quarante jours sur le Sinaï", un concept album riche et ambitieux, acclamé par beaucoup de critiques, donnant a cette occasion une visibilite internationale au groupe. Jusque là à forte tendance instrumentale, la musique de NIL se trouve alors enrichie de la voix de Roselyne Berthet, que les musiciens invitent à intégrer véritablement le groupe courant 2002. Le DVD live "Gouveia Art Rock Festival 2003", sorti l'année dernière, démontre l'énergie et la puissance du groupe sur scène. C'est aussi l'occasion de présenter en avant première les nouvelles compositions du désormais très attendu nouvel album "NIL NOVO SUB SOLE".

Created by Benjamin Croizy (keyboards), David Maurin (guitars and flute), Samuel Maurin (basses and Stick) and Frank Niebel (drums), NIL was named like this in 1999. After two confidential CDs, the band reached a higher level with "Quarante jours sur le Sinaï (Fourty days on the Sinaï)", an ambitious concept-album, acclaimed by many reviewers, thus giving the band an international visibility. Till now mostly instrumental, Roselyne Berthet added her voice to NIL's music, before actually joining the band in 2002. The live DVD "Gouveia Art Rock Festival 2003", issued last year, permitted to offer in preview some new compositions taken from the long-waited next album : "NIL NOVO SUB SOLE".
