Huis

Huis is a progressive rock band from Montreal founded in early 2010 by Michel Joncas (bass, keyboards) and Pascal Lapierre (keyboards) following a brief trip to the Netherlands. They found there the inspiration to begin writing what would become the first Huis album, Despite Guardian Angels, largely inspired by their visit of Amsterdam.

During the creative process, William Regnier (drums and percussion), Sylvain Descôteaux (vocals and keyboards) and Michel St-Père (guitars), also leader from the well-known band Mystery, joined Huis. This first effort of the band was well-acclaimed both by critics and fans worldwide.

After the release of the first album, Pascal Lapierre had to leave the band for family reasons and was ultimately replaced by Johnny Maz in fall 2015.

The follow-up album, Neither in Heaven, will be launched around the world on May 1, 2016. It is an over 60 minutes concept album, keeping the typical sound of the group, while also exploring some new musical horizons. For this album, the band joined by some guest musicians on some tracks, including Gerben Klazinga, keyboardist of the Dutch band Knight Area.

Huis est un groupe de rock progressif Montréalais ayant été fondé au début de 2010 par Michel Joncas (basse, claviers) et Pascal Lapierre (claviers) suite à un bref voyage aux Pays-Bas. Ils ont trouvé là l'inspiration pour amorcer l'écriture de ce qui allait devenir le 1er album de Huis, Despite Guardian Angels, largement inspiré de leur passage à Amsterdam.

Au cours du processus créatifs, ils se sont adjoint les services de William Régnier (batterie et percussions), Sylvain Descôteaux (voix et claviers) ainsi que Michel St-Père (guitares), aussi leader du groupe Mystery. Ce premier effort du groupe a été acclamé autant par la critique que par les fans à travers le monde.

Après la sortie du premier album, Pascal Lapierre a dû quitter le groupe pour des raisons familiales et a été remplacé ultimement par Johnny Maz à l'automne 2015.

Le deuxième opus du groupe, Neither in Heaven, sera lancé partout à travers le monde le 1er mai 2016. Il s'agit d'un album- concept de plus de 60 minutes qui, tout en conservant la sonorité typique du groupe, explore de nouveaux horizons musicaux. Pour cet album, le groupe a fait appel à quelques musiciens invités dont Gerben Klazinga, claviériste du groupe néerlandais Knight Area.
