The Beginning

Drummer Bernard Ouellette and Michel Caron form a band called Moon Project and record some songs. In 1985 the band changes its name to KAOS MOON with the arrival of guitarist Alain Pothier, bassist Michel Williamson and drummer Daniel Renaudin. In two short years

Between many concerts and TV appearances, Ouellette and Caron write about thirty songs that the band arranges together. In 1987, the constant touring starts to create tensions among the musicians and their manager. The band presents a memorable concert at the Beloeil Center that marks the end of Kaos Moon. At the end on 1987 Stephen Geysens approaches Bernard Ouellette and asks him to sing on Visible Wind’s first CD ‘’Catharsis’’. Ouellette plays many concerts with Visible Wind under the name of Christopher Wells. At the same time, Ouellette and Alain Pothier form the band Blitz along with Guy Charbonneau. Together Blitz plays more than 300 concerts in Canada as their first single reaches the top 10.

In 1993, Ouellette meets with long time friend and Visible Wind producer Denis Audet. Together they discuss about reforming Kaos Moon and record a first CD After the Storm. After 5 years Kaos Moon is back together with some new members. Pothier who played on the CD is replaced by Benoît Chaput in concerts, Renaudin is replaced by Visible Wind drummer Luc Hébert and Christian Gendron is the new Keyboardist.

After the Storm is very well received by the progressive rock world and gets great reviews. Kaos Moon is compared to Saga and Queensryche by the Gibraltar Progressive rock Encyclopaedia. The band tour Eastern Canada and the VOIR newspaper qualify the band as the best band in Quebec.

After the Storm

1997, Ouellette works in his own recording studio. Founded in 1992 Studio Amadeus is taking more and more time and Ouellette must once again put aside the recording of the second Kaos Moon CD , The French CD that will never see the light of day will become the songs for the next Kaos moon English CD.

The new Kaos Moon

In 2002 Ouellette is invited to sing a few songs with Visible Wind where he meets with UNICORN RECORDS Michel St-Pere. Talks are engaged and after many months Ouellette will complete the new Kaos Moon CD

The Band now consists of bassist Norman Lachapelle, guitarists Sylvain Provost, Alain Bertrand, and old Kaos moon members Alain Pothier and Benoît Chaput. Drums and percussions are played by Magella Cormier and Bernard Ouellette who also sings and plays many other instruments.

The Circle of Madness is now ready to hit the Progressive rock world and we hope that you will enjoy this new chapter of the Kaos Moon story.

Bernard Ouellette, officiant à la batterie forme avec Michel Caron le groupe Moon Project. Ce duo enregistre en studio huit (8) pièces qui ne deviendront jamais un album.

1985 Kaos Moon voit le jour officiellement avec la fusion du guitariste Alain Pothier, du bassiste Michel Williamson et du batteur Daniel Renaudin.

La reconnaissance en deux ans !

Le groupe Kaos Moon présente plusieurs spectacles et participe à différentes émissions télévisées. Pendant deux ans Ouellette et Caron composent plus d’une trentaine de chansons que le groupe fignole ensemble. Les nombreux spectacles produits par le groupe restent mémorables pour les fans de Kaos Moon qui sont de plus en plus nombreux.

1987 Les tensions au sein du groupe deviennent de plus en plus grandes et avec l’addition d’un nouveau gérant, les choses se compliquent et la dissolution du groupe s’ensuit. Kaos Moon offre alors deux représentations mémorables au Centre Culturel de Beloeil. Ce sera leurs spectacles d’adieu, le groupe se dissout en mai.

Fin 1987, Stephen Geysens de Visible Wind approche Bernard Ouellette pour chanter en studio leur 1er album ‘’Catharsis’’. Il fait plusieurs spectacles avec eux sous le vocable de Christopher Wells. Entre Kaos Moon et Kaos Moon !

Bernard Ouellette et Alain Pothier s’unissent à Guy Charbonneau, batteur, pour former le trio Blitz. Ensemble, ils feront plus de trois cents spectacles au Canada. Leur premier simple, gravit les palmarès de certaines stations jusqu’au top 10. Cependant, le projet Blitz ne va pas plus loin. 1993 Suite à une rencontre fortuite avec Denis Audet (ami d’enfance de Ouellette et producteur de plusieurs disques de Visible Wind), l’idée de reformer Kaos Moon pour enregistrer un album est évoqué. Après une séparation de 5 ans, Ouellette contacte les anciens musiciens. Quelques changements s’imposent alors : Pothier qui participe à l’enregistrement de After the Storm est remplacé par Benoît Chaput lors des spectacles, Daniel Renaudin est remplacé par Luc Hébert (batteur de Visible Wind) et Christian Gendron fait suite à Caron aux claviers.

L’album est alors distribué dans plus d’une quinzaine de pays et au-delà de 5000 copies en seront vendues !! Comparé à Saga et Queensryche par Gibraltar, l’encyclopédie Web du rock progressif, Kaos Moon effectue plus de quarante concerts au Québec. Les critiques sont excellentes et le journal Voir qualifie le band de ‘’ce qui se fait de mieux au Québec en ce moment’’.

L’Après Kaos Moon

En 1997, Bernard Ouellette prend le temps de travailler à la création de son Studio d’enregistrement. Le Studio Amadeus fondé en 1992 prend de l’expansion et Ouellette n’a d’autres choix que de mettre sur la glace le projet déjà commencé du deuxième album de Kaos Moon. Un album est conçu, en français cette fois. Les musiciens engagés deviendront ceux qui joueront, à partir de ce moment, avec Ouellette. L’album en français ne verra jamais le jour, mais ses mélodies serviront de base à la création de ce deuxième tant attendu de Kaos Moon !

Le nouveau Kaos Moon

Lors d’un spectacle avec le groupe Visible Wind, où, à titre de chanteur invité, Ouellette interprètera quelques vielles chansons, Michel St-Père (Unicorn Records) l’abordera pour lui signifier son intérêt à distribuer un album de Kaos Moon. Après plusieurs mois d’enregistrement chez Amadeus, le disque est enfin terminé !!!

Les différents musiciens qui forment maintenant le groupe de Kaos Moon sont tous des artistes hors pair. Norman Lachapelle à la basse, Sylvain Provost et Alain Bertrand aux guitares, sont appuyés par deux anciens KM soit Alain Pothier et Benoît Chaput. Les percussions et batteries sont jouées par Magella Cormier et Ouellette qui joue aussi plusieurs autres instruments.

Le nouveau Kaos Moon est maintenant prêt à être distribué dans 17 pays différents. Les impressions sont excellentes et le disque est très attendu dans le monde du rock
